UNESCO CLUBS – HIGH ETHICAL STANDARDS

UNESCO CLUBS are based on the values expressed in the constitutive act of UNESCO – the United Nations Organization for Education, Science and Culture. The basic guidelines of the United Nations regarding international cooperation and understanding are at the same time the guidelines of UNESCO CLUBS. It is a non-governmental organization with full right to freedom of speech and thought.

UNESCO CLUBS have an educational mission regarding the education of young people and their engagement in creating a more just world based on international solidarity and the struggle for peace.

This education is based on the development of awareness of the human right to democracy through:

• international and intercultural dimensions of thinking;
• basic awareness of human rights;
• exchange of experiences and opinions for better understanding;
• in the eternal struggle of opinions and actions, by engaging in regional, national and international UNESCO CLUBS.

UNESCO CLUBS receive authorization to operate from the Commission of Serbia for Cooperation with UNESCO. Based on this authorization, their statute and the Charter of UNESCO CLUBS, each UNESCO CLUB operates independently with full responsibility and acceptance of this charter.

Their task is to realize the basic objectives in the domain of UNESCO's work in the field of:

• EDUCATION for peace, human rights, cooperation and development;
• CULTURE – enabling exchange and better mutual understanding;
• SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT – protection of the environment, ecosystems and surroundings;
• CULTURAL HERITAGE – vigilant protection of cultural and natural assets;
• SCIENCE – supporting access to progress for all without discrimination.
